Choosing the Best Fit: Recovery Residence Webinar

Choosing the Best Fit: Recovery Residence Webinar

A 1-Hour Training with Kim Bock

On-Demand

Presentation: How do you choose the best fit for a recovery house for yourself or your client? What are NARR certification levels about? How do I really know what each recovery house is like? NHCORR Certified recovery residences follow the NARR standards that are accepted by SAMHSA and Congress. Recovery housing that abide by these standards promise a 60% greater chance of long term recovery than other forms of housing. But resident choice is a key factor in seeing success. The right house for the right person is critical to success.

As a result of this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Decipher the NHCORR website, specifically understanding the Certified Recovery Residence Page and the Accepting New Residents Page;
  2. Classify clients and discern the best fit recovery residences for a particular person; and
  3. Describe real-life examples in which these resources are and have been used.

Kim Bock

Executive Director

New Hampshire Coalition for Recovery Residences

Kim’s background in law and nonprofit board work allowed her to move the New Hampshire Coalition for Recovery Residences from a grassroots organization to a fully staffed organization. In the last 2 years, Kim has not only grown the number of certified recovery residences in NH by 70% but she has also developed a strong Housing Assistance Program for people entering recovery homes, awarding over $250K in the first 16 months of the program. Kim also spearheaded many projects for the support of recovery housing including a small bridge loan program to sustain houses through the first winter of COVID. Many more programs have been added to NHCORR with Kim’s guidance. NHCORR strives to provide support to house operators to service those in recovery.

11 Questions  |  3 attempts  |  80/110 points to pass Before receiving your certificate, participants must pass a 10-question quiz with an 80% or higher. The test can be attempted up to three times; if you cannot pass the quiz in the three attempts, please email training@nahadaca.org so staff can reset the webinar to be retaken at no additional cost. Why must you complete a quiz? First, it is an effective assessment tool, allowing you to gauge your understanding of the material. This reflection can help you find areas where you may need more study or clarification. Second, quizzes can enhance retention by reinforcing learning. Engaging with the material actively helps solidify knowledge in long-term memory. Third, it is a requirement for NHADACA to provide continuing education hours. Finally, quizzes can provide valuable feedback to staff and facilitators, offering insights into the overall comprehension and informing future teaching strategies.
