A 1-Hour Lunch & Learn with Jessica Stucker, LICSW, MLADC, SAP
Virtual via Zoom | 12:00pm-1:00pm
Presentation: This one-hour training is a brief overview of ethical considerations within the mandated population we often come into work with. Which Code of Ethics are clinicians supposed to follow? Does one weigh more than another? When working with the mandated population, there are many factors to consider: Knowing which Codes of Ethics to apply; Having cultural competence within the legal system; Understanding the clinician’s role within a mandated client’s treatment; Balancing between the code of ethics with our own thoughts and biases.
As a result of this training, participants will be able to:
- Explain and describe the NAADAC Code of Ethics, NASW Code of Ethics, and the AMHCA Code of Ethics;
- List key players within the legal system;
- Demonstrate appropriate language within the legal system (i.e. cultural competence);
- Find and review appropriate legal resources;
- Acknowledge their own biases; and
- Demonstrate an ability to balance the requirements of the legal system, as well as our own thoughts and concerns.
