Presentation: This hour-long training will ensure that professionals in the field of substance use treatment not only understand the core ethical principles but also know how to navigate real-world dilemmas they encounter in their practice.
As a result of this training, participants will be able to:
- Identify key ethical principles in the context of substance use treatment;
- Recognize common ethical dilemmas faced when working with substance use clients;
- Develop the ability to ask the right ethical questions to guide decision-making in complex situations; and
- Learn strategies to handle ethical challenges in a responsible, client-centered manner.

NH Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselors Association has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider. ACEP No 6754. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. NHADACA is solely responsible for all aspects of the program.

Sarah Haxhija is a dedicated and compassionate professional with over 10 years of experience in the substance use field, specializing in working with individuals impacted by impaired driving convictions. Sarah holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) and a certificate in Mindfulness from the New Hampshire Technical Institute (NHTI), where she also completed her Associate's degree in Addiction Counseling. Currently, Sarah is pursuing her Master's degree at New England College.
As a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) and Certified Recovery Support Worker (CRSW), Sarah is deeply committed to helping individuals navigate their recovery journey with empathy, integrity, and evidence-based practices. Throughout her career, she has worked extensively with the driving while impaired population, providing counseling, support, and resources to promote positive outcomes and long-term recovery.
With a passion for mindfulness and holistic approaches to healing, Sarah incorporates these practices into her work, fostering a supportive environment for clients to thrive. She is committed to ongoing professional development and utilizing her knowledge and experience to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those she serves.
